Director of Education Abroad
As the Director of Education Abroad for PNW’s Office of Global Engagement, Dr. Rausch is responsible for the development, growth, oversight, and promotion of high-quality, high-impact education abroad experiences and exchanges for PNW students. In addition to helping students choose the ideal education abroad programs based on their academic and personal goals, he also works closely with academic leaders to develop a vision and strategic plan for education abroad programming that connects curricula with real-world experiences around the globe. Previously, Dr. Rausch served as Assistant Director for Arizona State University’s Study Abroad Office where he specialized in the management, coordination, and design of the university’s faculty-directed study abroad programs. Under his direction, that model of programming grew extensively, advancing ASU to #10 as ranked by the Institute of International Education, sending 1,200+ students abroad annually. Prior to his tenure at ASU, he worked in education abroad at Florida State University. His other experiences in education abroad include risk management and health and safety oversight, student advising, pre-departure orientation and training for students, faculty, and staff, budgeting and contract negotiations, and marketing and recruitment. Additionally, he has led and taught university student groups on site in France and England. Dr. Rausch holds a Bachelor’s degree in French and International Affiairs and completed studying student development theory and the operations of institutions of higher education as part of his Master of Science in Higher Education program at Florida State University. Additionally, he completed an Ed.D. program in Leadership and Innovation; his research focused on supporting first-generation college students in study abroad.
